ABOUT THE ROLE

We are building a ‘Centre of Engineering Excellence’ at Babylon. The role of ‘Senior Quality Engineer - Accessibility’ will see you working daily with highly skilled accessibility specialists software engineering, product, clinical safety & regulatory teams who build and operate our software applications. Our aim is to build fast, safely & inclusive. This is an individual contributor role tasked with introducing new and better ways of ensuring high quality, safety and compliance for accessibility without sacrificing time to market through automation, testing early and testing often.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

- Implement a sustainable and scalable Quality Engineering strategy for accessibility

- Introduce new tools and processes to support Continuous Integration

- Ensure high levels of test coveragePromote/implement automated testing (wherever possible) & ensure they’re created at the right levels

- Support the automatic collection of quality metrics and subsequent improvements 

- Conduct exploratory testing sessions involving various stakeholders

Skills and Experience

• Experience working with user Interfaces on web & mobile
• A deep understanding of accessibility specifications such as WCAG and compliance testing
• Deep knowledge of how to make web and mobile applications compliant with specifications such as WCAG
• Experience with working on design systems and style guides
• Experience with screen readers (e.g. NVDA & JAWS)
• Experience with automated accessibility testing tools such as WAVE, AXE, etc
• Contributed to or created documentation such as a Test Strategy & Plan
• Experience with automating acceptance test cases
• Experience with tooling from either AWS, Azure or GCP
• Experience with overall Quality Engineering (both functional and non-functional aspects)
• Experience with BDD, TDD, ATDD and how it can be applied to test frontends
• Understanding of setting automated tests as quality gates in CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent problem solving and analytical mindset - with the ability to manage quality engineering processes, especially in regulated environments
• Fantastic people, communication and team-working skills

Highly desirable but not essential

• Experience in one of more of the following programming languages - Typescript/Javascript (preferred), Java, Python
• Experience working with micro frontends
• Experience with writing unit & integration tests
