Supports and maintains software-as-a-service (SaaS) and enterprise-wide applications across WFM. Evaluates, modifies, tests, and supports implementation of software solutions to help meet defined business needs. Performs application configuration, setup, and updating. Evaluates new packages, releases, upgrades, and other changes to understand change requirements, cost implications, timings, and potential user impact. Sets up user access and trains users on application. Recommends changes in application development, maintenance, and system standards. Evaluates and reports on application business value added.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes, adapts / develops, implements, and supports software applications company-wide.
  • Works with peers and business partners to document business processes and application requirements, analyze requirements, and prepare functional and technical specifications.
  • Leads projects to develop, test, deploy, and support applications, interfaces, and data integrations using various tools and environments.
  • Performs quality assurance testing to verify application functionality; identifies and fixes bugs and other inconsistencies.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to enhance software quality assurance strategies and effectiveness.
  • Consistently looks for ways to optimize and improve existing processes, systems, and platforms.
  • Coordinates application training and rollout with IT and users.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of software development toolsets and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated code writing ability across several platforms / environments.
  • Comfortable with adapting software for internal application.
  • In-depth knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques.
  • Experience designing intuitive simple and easily navigable user interfaces.
  • Communicates structured information in a clear, concise, and organized fashion.
  • Collaborates with others to achieve objectives and insure information flow.
  • Tailors communication approach to specific situations and audiences.
  • Applies basic research, information gathering and analytical skills to:
    • Select appropriate alternatives from defined options,
    • Collect required documentation and verify conformance with standards,
    • Assess accuracy of detailed information.
  • Handles detailed, structured problems; identifying roadblocks to task completion.
  • Uses existing procedures to resolve standard problems.
  • Possesses clear understanding of WFM’s and supported region / stores business objectives.
  • Has passion for Organics, Fair Trade and the Natural Foods industry.
  • Understands the key drivers of retail profitability and able to recommend actionable steps for operational improvement.
  • Strong understanding of the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and works cooperatively to ensure completion of projects.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
