We are seeking a world-class Senior Software Engineer with the character, skill, and backbone to build the next great technology business. With founder level input, you will work closely with the product and design leaders to better understand how we can leverage the knowledge gained through user research to build innovative solutions that provide value to those that have been traditionally underserved by technology. This is a ground-floor, greenfield development opportunity offering a chance to build from inception to a production ready product set to scale.

What you’ll do:

• Help own development efforts as a founding engineer on one of Rex’s launch stage companies both as an individual contributor and technical expert. 
• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain performant, highly-scalable backend systems for web and mobile applications.
• Implement software design standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with, and provide feedback to, teammates in design and product to ensure timely delivery of project objectives
• Execute with a high degree of individual ownership, but are also adept working as part of a team

What you offer:

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering roles
• Experience developing REST APIs using Node.js and Express.js
• Experience developing Node applications using TypeScript
• Experienced building systems on cloud based infrastructure platforms like AWS or GCP
• Experience using modern build and deployment tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases 
• BA/BS (or MA/MS) in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience implementing authentication / authorization using strategies such as JWT / OIDC / OAUTH is a plus
• Experience with devtools like eslint, prettier, nodemon is a plus
• Experience with Postgres is a plus
