ABOUT THE TEAM 
As an engineer on the Common Client Core, you'll get to build the shared library that will ultimately power the core functionality of our 5 Evernote clients. You'll be developing the core client data access and storage abstractions, fixing tricky (and some of them are really tricky!) problems across multiple platforms. Working alongside our client and services teams, you'll build core APIs for new Evernote features. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

• Design and implement a shared client backend that can be used across Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and web
• Design and build out the core persistence and data layer for all clients
• Partner with client teams to build APIs for data binding, features, and updates
• Design and develop frameworks that allow for other engineering teams to contribute business logic modules to the Common Core
• Build for high performance and reliability

WHAT YOU'VE DONE 

• Developed APIs or SDKs
• Debugged and solved hard problems in distributed systems
• Built data models and persistent stores for complex data domains
• Built mobile or desktop client applications
• Bonus: Built and shipped cross-platform libraries

• You’re a technologist at heart; you genuinely enjoy writing code
• You’re well versed in system architectural patterns and styles, and you are opinionated about them
• You have strong CS fundamentals; you’re comfortable reading everything from blog posts to formal papers and incorporating their findings into your work
• You have deep understanding over a programming language (C++ is a bonus)
• You’re committed to writing elegant, reliable, scalable, testable and maintainable code
• You are friendly, reliable, humble, receptive to feedback, and you gain happiness from helping others along with enjoy working on a team
