The database market is massive (the IDC estimates it to be $106B+ by 2024!) and MongoDB is at the head of its disruption. The MongoDB community is transforming industries and empowering developers to build amazing apps that people use every day. We are the leading modern data platform and the first database provider to IPO in over 20 years. Join our team and be at the forefront of innovation and creativity.

The Developer Tools team is responsible for multiple products that enhance the MongoDB developer experience. These products are:

MongoDB Compass

Compass is the desktop GUI for MongoDB, written using a web stack (Node.js, React, Redux) inside Electron. Compass utilises a modular architecture to allow sharing components with other products, such as MongoDB Atlas and MongoDB Charts.

MongoDB Shell

The MongoDB Shell is an interactive Javascript interface to MongoDB, which can be run as a REPL in the terminal or embedded in web browsers. It is written in Typescript and leverages modern web technologies such as Node.js, React and Redux for browser implementations.

MongoDB VS Code Extension

The MongoDB VSCode Extension is published to the Visual Studio Marketplace for use in Microsoft’s popular IDE. The extension allows data exploration and MongoDB script testing with intelligent auto completion. It is written in Typescript in a Node.js/Electron environment.

Our team is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with a passion for visual and architectural design and solving sophisticated engineering problems in rapid release cycles.
