Job Description Summary

The Senior Software Engineer on the CCC Telematics team will be responsible for designing, and developing new application software and support microservices catering to related applications. He or she will analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications as well as oversee the documentation of all development activity.

Job Duties

• Develops new software & web applications, supports applications under development, & customizes current applications. Develops software update process for existing applications. 
• Oversees the researching, writing, & editing of documentation & technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, & formal recommendations & reports.
• Keeps current with technological developments within the industry. Reviews literature, patents, & current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
• Work with Quality Assurance and Product Owner teams to ensure that software products meet functional and non-functional requirements
• Displays expertise in knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, & skills & their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
• Possesses a good vocabulary of design & architectural terms, and is familiar with the practical application of these terms.
• Exercises independent judgment & discretion in matters of significance.
• Other duties & responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics or related work experience

 • 5+ years of experience in software development
• Experience in unit testing principles & methodologies using frameworks like JUnit
• Strong knowledge of basic object oriented software design patterns
• Experience with Java 8 or above, Git, REST web services
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services or Azure or GCP, building cloud native applications.
• Experience with any of the following:
    o NoSQL data stores, Relational DBs, Object stores like AWS-S3
• Experience working with microservice architectures

Desired Skills

• Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban
• Exposure to containerization using Docker or Kubernetes is a plus (not required)
