What you’ll do:
Own the API layer and micro-services that sit between the Vrbo presentation layer and Expedia Group wide domain services.
Provide hands on technical leadership and participate in architectural decision-making.
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, front end engineers and other stakeholders to develop new capabilities.
Participate in our innersource culture (Internal Open Source) by delivering high quality code that levels up not only your team but the entire organization.
Mentor junior engineers
Technologies we use: Java, GraphQL, REST, JavaScript, Spring Boot, Drop Wizard, Cassandra, Mongo DB, Node.js, Kafka, Data Dog, React, Splunk, AWS, Docker
Who you are:
Proficient in web and microservices architecture and development with Java and/or Node.js
Proficient building APIs with GraphQL & REST
Hold a BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
8+ years relevant software development experience
Effective communicator
Experience with Cassandra, Mongo DB, and Kafka a plus
Experience developing front end web, Android, or iOS applications a plus
