Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Senior WordPress developer will be our first full-time developer dedicated to our corporate websites and an opportunity to influence the future of our digital footprint.

Who we’re looking for: 

You are a highly motivated and experienced WordPress developer, an expert at building custom modern and elegant websites, built upon the WordPress platform. You love the technical parts of website development, making things work better and faster. You love open source software and have contributed to WordPress because you value seeing your innovation drive the success of millions! You bring expertise and ideas to the table and can execute on them. You value working with an amazing team that gets stuff done. You are eager to drive the success of Liquibase and our customers/community through continuous improvement to our public facing websites, the platform they rely on, and the features and functions they deliver — working across the company and with a team that knows the work you do matters.

What you'll do: 

  • Own the architecture, roadmap, and execution of our public websites/digital presence
  • Develop front-end and back-end website features and functionality
  • Work within the Marketing team, and cross-functionally with Product and Engineering, to understand and contribute to website requirements to support our business goals and integrate with our product
  • Develop elegant technical solutions to meet the needs of our customers and community members, while continuously positioning the websites for the future
  • Define architectural changes and technical decisions with respect to our websites with a focus on delivering elegant digital experiences with agility, speed, scalability, and optimization
  • Stay ahead of the curve on website standards, technologies, and best practices and leverage them to keep our websites optimized

Your background and skill set:

  • 8+ years of professional experience architecting and building enterprise-grade, highly trafficked websites in a fast-paced environment
  • 5+ years of in depth work building custom WordPress websites (not cookie-cutter), developing custom plug-ins, leveraging common plug-ins, developing custom/unique themes to optimize site experience and brand.
  • Expert knowledge of PHP development
  • Strong fundamentals and wizardry with front-end technologies, including Javascript, CSS3, HTML3, and  JQuery
  • Experience with Javascript development frameworks/tools (Angular, Node.js, React, Next, etc)
  • Professional experience using Git/Bitbucket/GitHub or similar source control systems
  • Experience with system architecture and leading a team of developers
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server), web servers (e.g., Apache, Nginx)
  • Experience with ecommerce platforms or payment gateways (FastSpring, Stripe, etc), a plus
  • Experience with WPEngine is a plus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork
  • Great attention to detail, organizational skills, and an analytical mind
  • US-based

Credentials:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or relevant experience required
  • A portfolio of powerful modern web applications/websites that you have contributed to that shows off your expertise
  • Proven success in creating amazing and measurable outcomes
