Cart.com is looking for a Web Developer and Technical SEO Implementation Specialist to work closely with our UI implementation and SEO teams to implement optimizations for Cart.com’s SEO clients. This role is responsible for updating client and internal websites based on recommendations from the SEO Analyst or manager. These changes include updating site settings (platform settings, schema optimization, etc), changes to product and category data (titles, descriptions, etc), implementation of blog and static content pages, and optimizing theme files to improve Core Web Vitals (page speed, input delay, layout shift). This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript), an understanding of SEO trends and best practices, and eCommerce management platform and data management.

Responsibilities

  • Use web development skills to optimize website themes and templates for Core Web Vitals.
  • Work with web designers and strategists to implement improves to layout, navigation and display of a website to enhance its search engine ranking
  • Implement changes to client and internal websites and product catalogs to correct issues identified by the SEP team, including but not limited to, metadata, product and category descriptions, schema optimization, website settings, etc.
  • Keep abreast of changes with SEO strategies, tactics and search algorithm shifts.

Experience

  • Proficiency in front-end development languages including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Experience designing and developing responsive websites with a specific focus on SEO best practices
  • Ability to make CSS changes to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers 
  • Understanding of at least one or more eCommerce Content Management Systems (WordPress/ WooCommerce, Shopify, BigCommerce, etc)
  • Proficiency in excel working with and manipulating data using vlookups, pivot tables, concatenation, etc.
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to quickly learn, share and apply knowledge in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Python and/or jQuery
  • Experience with search engine optimization, analytics, or ecommerce management 
  • Experience with project management tools such as ClickUp, Asana, or Jira 
  • Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Bing Webmaster Tools, SEMRush, AHREFs, etc 
  • Understanding of the entire web development process including design, development and deployment

Our headquarters is located in Austin, Tx at the address listed. The majority of our roles are flexible hybrid for employees who live within the cities where we have offices and remote for employees who are not located in those cities.
