Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) 

Eventus Systems is looking to hire a capable and results-driven Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic, distributed team. You will be responsible for ensuring that new features satisfy specifications and requirements and do not regress existing functionality of our Validus product. You will be using a variety of technologies, and applying industry standards and best practices. 

 

You will design and conduct functional and performance tests for new features, analyze the results, document the observations, and report them to the design team. To be successful, you should have a working knowledge of software and test design, and strong analytical and communication skills. Being in a unique position as a first user of a new feature, you will provide valuable feedback to the designers and developers. You should strive not only to ensure the quality of the product but to help make it the best product for the job. 

SDET Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios.
  • Designing and executing tests validating new feature functionality and usability.
  • Analyzing test results and documenting findings in software workflow tools (Jira), submitting bug tickets as necessary 
  • Preparing reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out and reporting to the design team.
  • Interacting with stakeholders to understand product requirements.
  • Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements, product design, and potential problems.
  • Helping develop and and refine testing tools and frameworks

SDET Requirements:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • You have 2+ years experience writing test plans and implementing automated testing strategies for complex data-centric systems
  • You have experience with Python
  • You have experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
  • You have experience with Cypress, Selenium, Protractor, Nightwatch, or other web user interface testing automation tools
  • You have experience with some unit testing frameworks in any language
  • You have a working knowledge of SQL 
  • You have experience with Linux and feel at home working in a shell
  • You have experience with git or similar source code management systems
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines is a plus
  • Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
