Who We’re Seeking

You have some professional software engineering experience and are looking for a job that will give you the challenges and opportunities you need to grow. Beyond general engineering skills, you bring to the table specific experiences and skills that make your team and your organization better. You comfortably and quickly learn new languages and systems. You like working with people and helping people. You make commitments and work toward meeting them through good communication and collaboration.

  • 1.5 - 4 years experience as a professional software engineer (not counting internships)
  • Proficiency with java and/or scala
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Proficiency with git
  • Excellent documentation
  • Excellent communication
  • Familiarity with web application architecture and development
  • Familiar and proficient with software development processes
  • You own your code and take pride in it
  • Bonus: proficiency with groovy
  • Bonus: proficiency with javascript
  • Bonus: proficiency with typescript and/or python
  • Bonus: familiarity with AWS services
  • Bonus: experience in a startup environment


What You'll Do

  • Execute sprint tasks
  • Help break stories down to tasks, and features down to stories; provide technical input to feature discussions
  • Review PRs
  • Participate in technical discussions and other meetings
  • Take slots for our internal, on-call support rotation
  • Participate in release and on-going monitoring processes; determine what needs to be monitored and implement systems to do so
  • Improve your technical and professional skills
  • Share your knowledge and skills; help others resolve technical challenges
  • Be a positive contributor to our culture and community

 

VidMob's engineering department is based in Pittsfield, MA. Hires will have the option to work remotely at least part of the time or in the office in Pittsfield or one of our other locations.
