Summary

Aristocrat is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Digital Assets and Workflow Team. You will work closely with teams across the company to understand the current use of multiple version control software systems from concept through product release. Leveraging your GitHub and game development experience, you will build the optimal development pipeline to improve collaboration, automation, agility, and asset management.
The ideal candidate should have engineering experience developing pipelines using version control, preferably in the fields of gaming, media, or any discipline that mixes technical and creative. We are looking for someone passionate about game and tool development.

What You'll Do

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and governance for version control across the company

  • Lead migration efforts from multiple SCM systems to GitHub

  • Work with teams to adapt workflows, make structural changes, and troubleshoot integrations

  • Develop scripts and tools to integrate GitHub with our internally developed CI/CD applications and automation

  • Formulate and document GitHub best practices and policies 

  • Mentor teams and provide guidance for continued enhancement of our use of GitHub and GitHub actions

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years experience with GitHub

  • 4+ years experience in the configuration of GitHub and working with APIs 

  • Experience defining and implementing best practices for repo structures for mono/multi/poly repos for monoliths/microservices/IaC 

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python preferred) 

  • Proficiency in software development lifecycle tools and processes 

  • Understanding developer use of C#, Java, C++ 

  • Experience working with Linux and Windows 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with large code bases and large binary assets 

  • Experience with GitHub Actions 

  • Experience with administration of Perforce, Subversion 

  • Expertise in best practices for GitHub documentation, markdown 

  • Experience with ChatOps (Slack app development ideally) 

  • Knowledge of CI solutions; Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, BuildBot, etc
