Job Duties

Software Engineers for Austin, TX location. Turn information into insights on multiple software application platforms for electronic estimating software, communications systems, workflow tools and internet and wireless-enabled technology solutions. Collect, parse, analyze and visualize large sets of data. Participate in building real-time data pipelines that produce up-to-the second reports as well as the design and delivery of petabyte-scale data stores. Design and deliver core software components used to manage streaming data pipelines. Design, optimize and operate data models used to store data in the data stores. Design, implement, operate cloud-scale data platforms. Work with data scientists and other technical staff to operationalize analysis and machine learning algorithms. Technical Environment: Java, J2EE, JUnit, TestNG, Amazon, Google and Azure Web Services, Python, REST APIs (Restlet, Jersey), EMR, RDS, Redshift, Data Pipeline, Kinesis, HBase, SQL databases, NOSQL technologies, Hadoop, Dynamo DB, Redis, Kafka, Storm.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any Engineering field plus two years of experience in the job offered or with software development OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any Engineering field plus five years of experience in the job offered or with software development required.

Required Skills: software development experience with Java, J2EE, JUnit, TestNG, designing, implementing, operating cloud-scale data platforms; Amazon, Google and Azure Web Services, Python, EMR, RDS, Redshift, Data Pipeline, Kinesis, REST APIs (Restlet, Jersey), SQL and NoSQL databases, Hadoop, Dynamo DB, Redis, Kafka, Storm.
