About the Role:

We are looking for a leader for a team of software engineers that changes the way mineral rights are managed.  As a hands on manager, you'll spend time writing software, as well as mentoring engineers and driving the roadmap forward.  Our product space is complex, has developing industry standards, and a large portion of what our software replaces custom excel-driven business workflows.  With this in mind, we expect that you will have experience with lean prototyping and rapid productization of said prototypes with tight communication flows between product owners, product managers, design, and engineering. 
 

Team building:  You'll be responsible for helping to recruit to the overall engineering organization, as well as evaluating members of your team, coaching the team and it's members, and celebrating the team's successes.  Success will fundamentally be measured by your ability to recruit, retain, and align your team.

Strategy: In collaboration with the product manager, frontend and backend thought leaders, and Product Development management, you will build a product delivery roadmap and set technology strategy.

Execution: You will establish processes and use tools to deliver the product roadmap, while embracing a continuous improvement model to enhance the plan.

Quality: You will lead the review all pull requests to ensure quality standards are met and adequate test coverage is present.

Development: You will participate in the development of new products, fixing bugs, etc. from between 20 to 50% of your time.

Competitive Candidate Profile:

You are an experienced web developer comfortable with writing code in untyped languages like Python or Ruby on the backend and frontend code in JavaScript.

You have lead software development teams as a people manager for at least two years.

You have lead agile teams (preferably following a variant of Lean Kanban) and set operational metrics.

You are a passionate believer in the power of continuous improvement through mentorship, feedback, and metrics.
