Software Engineering Manager
Q2 is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team of developers and quality engineers to deliver an industry-changing fintech platform. You will be working at a company whose mission is to build stronger and more diverse communities by strengthening their financial intuitions by partnering with FinTech’s and startups who want to bring change and innovation to the financial world. This position will be responsible for leading a team in the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment. It requires a highly motivated and focused individual capable of leading and building high performing innovative teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team to design, implement, and deploy high-quality, large-scale systems and services in support of community financial institutions and FinTech’s
- Lead the definition of secure, scalable, and low-latency services and efficient physical processes
- Work with cross-functional teams delivering on demanding projects
- Manage the day-to-day development activities for your team
- Understand system interdependencies and limitations
- Work with stakeholders to establish timelines for new projects
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospective, and daily scrum meetings
- Instill best practices for software development
- Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- 3+ years of professional experience in software development
- People management experience and/or exhibited leadership skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Expert knowledge of software development, testing, and maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate technical discussions and drive solutions forward to achieve business needs
- Expert knowledge of software development, testing, and maintenance
- Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
- Experience with scaling and performance of large systems
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Obsession with quality - attention to detail coupled with the ability to think abstractly
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Knowledge and experience with mobile development practices preferred
- Knowledge and experience with automation preferred
- Knowledge and experience in the banking industry preferred
