Job At A Glance

We are looking for a highly motivated Software Support Engineer to join Gecko’s Software Engineering team. This team develops and maintains an exciting suite of platforms including Gecko’s Web Portal, our data platform and pipeline, and even some of the software that controls our Robots! The ideal candidate will have a good balance of building relationships with users, solving technical problems and enterprise system knowledge. If you are looking to join a talented team of engineers, work with cutting edge technologies, have a people oriented mindset, and work on an interesting suite of platforms and products, this is the position for you. 

What You Will Do

  • Work directly with software developers to understand user issues and provide solutions in real-time.
  • Understands the end to end workflow of Gecko’s Software applications and the systems they integrate with.
  • Create workarounds for issues that require immediate solutions if a permanent one is not immediately available.
  • Document troubleshooting guides to empower the customer to resolve issues quickly on their own.
  • Setup automation and monitoring systems to optimize utilization of software. 
  • Use critical thinking skills to debug problems and develop solutions to challenging technical problems.
  • Interact with other engineers from multiple disciplines in a team environment.
  • Develop tests to ensure the integrity and availability of the application.

What Gecko Is Looking For

  • 2+ years experience as an SDET or QA Engineer. 
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability in testing APIs and UIs.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc. 
  • Experience in a customer support role/environment.
  • Must enjoy working in a fast paced, and at times, hectic environment under pressure/time constraints. 
  • Must possess empathy for the customer and a positive attitude. 
  • Must have excellent problem solving skills. 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience testing Python applications is preferred. 
  • Experience with Cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, Azure, etc is preferred.
