What you will be doing 

While Forcepoint has many products, the focus for this position is working on our User & Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) product, which is utilized by our customers to view their data, monitor the behavior of their employees across multiple systems (communications, logins, door access, etc), and fine-tune the analytics that drive the features. 

 

The majority of testing is performed manually against the user-interface, but there is also work to do to improve our automated testing and expand coverage to RESTful APIs as well as other back-end services - so experience in those area is nice to have. 

  • Own the quality gate in our SDLC; be responsible for sign-off that our product is ready for market

  • Define strategic testing and quality goals; lead your team to success

  • Develop our test suite at each layer in the development process

  • Mentor QA team members on assigned projects

  • Ensure the quality of test specifications and results are defined and tracked appropriately

  • Partner with other Engineering leaders within our business unit to influence process and delivery

  • Partner with other QA leaders across Forcepoint to share knowledge and advocate QA best practices

  • Coordinate release of new features with Product Management and Engineering

  • Contribute to QA Process improvement

  • Participate in production support by troubleshooting problems and identifying possible workarounds or solution

  • Independently analyze issues, recommend software changes and write detailed bug reports

  • Determine test cycles, phases and conditions; set up testing environments and enforce QA standards for all phases of testing

  • Keep bug fixes and features on schedule for release by following up on the status of stories in tracking software with product and engineering as the deliverable moves through the development cycle 

  

Required Skills  

  • The successful candidate will have

  • At least 3 years of experience as a technical quality assurance engineer, writing test plans, manual testing, automation code, and frameworks

  • At least 2 years of experience leading local and remote teams of 7 or more

  • Experience leading QA functions in an Agile engineering environment

  • Enthusiastic approach to team leadership; the idea of leading a small team to accomplish big things invigorates and motivates you

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – you will need to clearly and concisely communicate across many teams

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills to provide detailed root cause analysis

  • Ability to recommend Quality Assurance best practices and help define and champion Quality Assurance standards

  • Familiar with source control tools like Git

  • Basic Unix skills 

  

Preferred Skills 

  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) and experience working with build and release tools such as Jenkins 

  • Experience delivering Enterprise software to a broad client base

  • Experience with Ruby, Selenium and/or Capybara

  • Experience testing and working with APIs and micro-services
