Forcepoint is looking for a Cloud Operations Architect to plan, design, build, and run the next generation Cloud platform.  As a technical leader in the Cloud Operations team, this candidate will be responsible for strategic initiatives in the existing and to-be infrastructure.   

This is a hands-on role that will interact with peer Architects/SMEs and all levels of the Business.  The ideal candidate will have deep experience in building Clouds from the ground up and at scale. The individual is a self-starter and has the ability to operate effectively and independently even with ambiguity.  

Essential Functions

• Serve as a Cloud champion in the Enterprise representing Cloud Operations
• Architect, design, and operationalize next generation cloud solutions (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS) in both private and public
• Review and audit the existing Global Data Center for performance, scalability, elasticity, security, and availability
• Champion the evolution towards the Smart Data Center by leveraging automation and world-class monitoring and telemetry
• Review and analyze DevOps best practices across the Enterprise and recommend technical and process gaps
• Enable effective collaboration and integration between Engineering and Operations
• Create and maintain infrastructure standards which include SW and HW lifecycle, configuration management, policies, and BCDR
• Partner with Information Security in ensuring security posture is maintained
• Serve as a change agent in automation across the infrastructure (design automated build systems, infrastructure as a code)
• Participate in the Architecture Review Board and provide technical guidance in the areas of Cloud Computing and the Smart Data Center
• Provide technical leadership to less experienced members of the team and across the company
• Serve as the final escalation point to operational issues as necessary

Education, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience related to Information Technology
• 5+ years as a Cloud Technical Leader or Architect
• 7+ years in a Systems Engineering role
• Deep expertise in the design and deployment of Public Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).  Certifications a plus
• Deep expertise in cloud monitoring and telemetry with the ability to design, implement, and manage
• Experience across a mix of programming languages (Python, Java, .NET)
• Expertise in CI/CD framework and toolsets
• Experience in the design, implementation, and management of containers and applications deployed in AWS, Azure
• Knowledge in the design, implementation, and management of Cloud databases
• Strong layer 2 and layer 3 knowledge including but not limited to DNS, DHCP, NTP, TCP/UDP, IP protocols
• Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate with varying levels in the organization
