SailPoint is seeking a Senior Manager in Cybersecurity with a proven track record of leading Security Architecture & Engineering (SAE) teams. The Senior Manager will be responsible for aligning strategy and enablement of SailPoint solutions across a team of subject matter experts. As a provider of both SaaS and Enterprise Identity solutions for some the world's most prestigious organizations, SailPoint strives for excellence in our Cybersecurity program. This critical leadership role will be responsible for providing strategic direction, analyzing current state architecture, establishing reusable patterns, governance and optimizing our future state needs. This is a critical role and member in the Cybersecurity leadership team, responsible for ensuring horizontal alignment to other service leads.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate servant leadership with strong examples of success in Security Architecture and Engineering, leading and motivating teams and a strong focus on delivering industry leading solutions to problems. This is a challenging and impactful role where you will have the opportunity to work with both internal and external stakeholders and be directly responsible for delivering a comprehensive Security Architecture & Engineering program. This role reports directly to the Chief Cybersecurity Architect and can be remote or preferably in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance for a team of subject matter experts in various security architecture capabilities.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive strategy to deliver continuous improvements on our infrastructure and systems security posture.
  • Partner cross-functionally with key business partners to influence and ensure alignment and support for the Security Architecture and Engineering mandate.
  • Align and collaborate with leaders within Cyber Security Operations, Risk Management, Product Security and Security Governance teams on a strategy to support their functions with technical solutions and expertise.
  • Drive operational excellence and delivering continued program improvements in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements and aligns with and supports the risk posture of the organization.
  • Contribute to cyber security roadmap development for enterprise level systems and ensure alignment with overall security strategy.
  • Ensure the completion of technical evaluations and annual refresh of capabilities includes appropriate due-diligence and best practice assessments.
  • Direct engineering and architecture principles, policies and standards for security management setting the strategy for the organization.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional IT disciplines to ensure proper controls are implemented in our infrastructure and application environment.
  • Accountable for leading and/or oversight of Security Architecture specific programs/projects/remediation actions as well as ensuring the successful on-time, on-scope, and on-budget deliveries of those programs.
  • Define and communicate SailPoint's strategic platform and target architecture, implementing and driving security practices for enterprise and cloud environments using an intelligence and threat-driven defense model.
  • Establish and oversee the Security Architecture governance framework ensuring integration with the IT Operating model.
  • Collaborate with Product security to ensure consistent application of security testing methodologies automated and adaptable across all platforms.
  • Define, create, and maintain security architecture artifacts (i.e. models, patterns, templates, baseline etc.).
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend security technologies that can be applied to technology solutions being developed or maintained internally or externally.
  • Provides technical supervision, oversight, and problem resolution for engineering activities.
  • Advise security leadership on risk levels and security posture of managed systems.
  • Interact regularly with senior executives and individual departmental leads to ensure that security priorities are aligned with the company strategic directions.
  • Develop, track, report and deliver on relevant key security architectural metrics.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to meet overall business objectives.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead resources internal and external to the Security Architecture & Engineering and SailPoint respectively.


Required Experience

  • 2+ years of experience directly supervising a Security Architecture & Engineering function in an organization with a large cloud footprint.
  • Experience benchmarking and hardening multiple layers of a security stack.
  • Deep understanding of creating metrics and measures to demonstrate advancement.
  • Ability to evolve security strategy based on research, data, business direction, and industry trends.
  • Practical security engineering background, with expert level knowledge of infrastructure security concepts including networking devices, identity services, web application security, encryption, penetration/vulnerability tools and endpoint security.
  • Solid understanding of data protection policies, standards and products, privacy rules and regulations • Experience partnering with members of the external cybersecurity industry and community (e.g. Coalitions, Open Source, Special Interest Groups).
  • Maintain current knowledge of threat landscape, attacker techniques and mitigations.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering security solutions within tight time frames, in collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups and contending priorities.
  • Experience creating architectural patterns and artifacts.
  • History leveraging an objective, data driven approach to deliver critical architecture decisions to business and technical partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • United States Citizen located within the United States.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Security, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field and 5 years of related work experience, or a master's degree in Computer Science, IT Security, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of related work experience.
  • Certification as a Certified Information Security Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or other pertinent certifications aligned to the following certification bodies:
    • ISC2
    • ISACA
    • SANS
    • Offensive Security
    • Project Management training/certification
    • Quality Management (ITIL, Six Sigma, TQM, etc.) training/certifications
