Bankrate.com, a division of Red Ventures, is looking for a talented, results-oriented, innovative Senior Software Engineer to join the team! This individual will play a major role in software architecture and design for the platform that provides the backbone for the Bankrate.com brand.  This person will have strong experience developing cloud native solutions and have excellent problem solving skills. This person will interact with developers and business people at all levels and with teams across a geographically diverse company.  This individual will be responsible for promoting a collaborative and communicative culture.

The team you’ll be working with is a supportive and fast-moving team that builds the key software for the brand. We create software that is sustainable in the long-term, which requires each of us to be committed to the company’s goals and values. This is an opportunity to have significant input into the technical direction and architecture of our content platform.

What You'll Do:

• Design software architecture and system processes that support many teams of engineers
• Proactively identify software and process concerns as well as problem solve
• Mentor more junior engineers 
• Provide documentation and support to engineers on other teams.

What We're Looking For:

• 7+ years’ experience in software development roles
• Strong experience in software architecture and design and improving infrastructure
• Experience with CMS development, especially headless CMS development at scale. Storyblok is highly desired.
• Strong in PHP frameworks like Drupal, Symfony, Laravel, or WordPress. 
• Understanding of AWS and cloud-based development.
• Strong organization and documentation skills, with a methodical approach to all tasks and the ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to identify software development processes to improve our production practices and efficiency.

Even Better:

• Experience with JavaScript and npm
• Experience with APMs(Application Performance Monitoring tools) - such as New Relic
• Understanding of relational database structures
