As a Staff Backend Software Engineer at OJO Labs, you’re responsibilities include:
Be part of a talented engineering team to build a compelling digital experience that engage with consumers who are in the process of making important purchasing decisions. Write code, write a lot of code, write better code while you are at it. Participate in building a strong culture that values learning and collaboration.
What we're looking for:
- 10+ years of hands-on development experience
- Experience in Java or other Object Oriented languages
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores and message brokers
- Proven track record of providing consistent data delivery and quality at scale
- Strong communication skills and experience working across multiple teams
- An appetite to learn the craft of software development and data engineering
- Proven interests in OJO and attention to detail. Please put “Ada Lovelace” in your resume or your cover letter
- Proven track record of building development teams through mentoring and coaching and guiding
- Ability to balance long term architectural vision with immediate business needs
- Computer Science or other technical degree (or equivalent job experience)
Nice to Haves:
- Experience working with Data Science teams
- Experience building maintainable systems supported by automated tests
- Experience with Kotlin, GRPC and RabbitMQ
- Experience with DynamoDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Spark
