We are looking for passionate, dedicated engineers to join our operations team, build out our global footprint and assist with some of our growing pains. The mission is simple - make sure gamers can game. We use our expertise to make sure our technology stack is fully automated and we place a large focus on efficiency and resiliency to deliver our mission.

Our head is in the clouds, but our heart is in bare metal. You will be working on both physical and virtual infrastructure navigating all the challenges that come working with full stack systems. You must be passionate about building high performance, resilient platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Help manage, troubleshoot and maintain automated systems across our compute estate
  • Review and improve non-automated systems
  • Resolving incidents across multiple globally-distributed teams
  • Monitor high uptime, low latency services to ensure the best experience for our customers
  • Onboarding new customers to our platform and helping make game launches smooth
  • Diagnosing and fixing issues with our custom game scaling toolset
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining networks and servers, following issues from end to end in the technology stack

Requirements

  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as BASH, Python and Javascript
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Puppet or Ansible
  • Deep knowledge of operating systems, particularly Linux in addition to Windows Server
  • Experience working to a CCNP level, managing switches and routers in diverse geographic locations
  • Excellent communication skills; because you’ll be collaborating with a global team, technical specialists and our customers
  • Familiar with widely open source technologies like Kibana/Logstash
  • Passion for learning and researching new technologies
  • Comfortable handling production 24/7 services

Bonus points

  • Knowledge of InfluxDB and Grafana for monitoring and alerting
  • Hands-on datacentre experience
  • Healthy obsession with metrics and measurement
  • An interest in programming languages such as Golang

You will be required to take part in an on-call rota (One week in four), which is shared between operations staff.
