Music Firsthand is an early-stage music technology and media startup that helps individuals and businesses book live music based on brand and lifestyle, and then complete a hassle-free booking experience. Our app is currently available in private beta on iOS and Android. We also produce the popular weekly live streaming show ‘Comedians Interviewing Musicians’.

Our team consists of current and former media executives and technology leaders who have had successful launches in the past.

Your Mission

This is a ground floor opportunity to join the company founder as a technical lead in a rapidly progressing new business. You will work with the founder as a broadly capable technical resource to coordinate and communicate with external software development partners. This is an incredible opportunity for the right person to learn valuable technical skills and contribute to the success of a startup with early traction in an exciting industry.

Your Focus

• Test and validate new app releases

• Identify and file bugs

• Define and document new product features

• Extract and update data in the user database for reporting and troubleshooting

• Write application code, if you have the skills and desire  

Your Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience in the software industry

• Experience with React Native, mobile app development (iOS/Android), Javascript, and MongoDB

• Aptitude to quickly understand systems and technical concepts

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and work with remote teams

• Able to explain complex technical information

• Self-motivated and enthusiastic with creative and critical thinking capabilities

• Understands the software development process and is comfortable with ambiguity

Compensation

After successfully bootstrapping the launch of the app on iOS and Android, Music Firsthand has just initiated its fundraising activity. This is a part-time independent contractor role based in Austin, TX. Compensation will include equity in the business.
