ShipperHQ is looking for an experienced, exceptional technical lead to help build our market leading shipping management platform. We are looking to expand our team, and are searching for the right candidate to provide technical expertise, mentorship and elegant solutions.

ShipperHQ is a bootstrapped startup with an office in Austin, TX, and a market leader in the eCommerce Shipping space! Founded in 2009, we are a premier supplier of shipping software for eCommerce sites. We have 40+ staff spread across the UK, Australia, and the US, with our core team based in Austin, TX. We have a diverse team, who likes to run fast, delivery high quality and have some fun.

You will:

• Provide technical and architectural direction as we build out new features and products on React, Rails, Node and GraphQL
• Bring these projects to production on AWS environments 
• Work with existing systems whilst maintaining quality and stability
• Look to improve processes and methodologies in the engineering team
• Mentor and collaborate with other engineers 

Our ideal candidate:

• Has 2+ years experience as technical lead
• Has experience with agile methodologies
• Has experience in a startup or small company environment
• Is adaptable and responsive
• Has a high quality bar
• Has strong communication skills and organisational skills
• Looks for opportunities to mentor junior engineers
• Willingness to learn new languages, technologies, and stacks
• Degree in computer science, software or equivalent

We’re looking for 5+ years technical skills and experience in any or all of the following

• React
• Node
• GraphQL
• AWS
• Rails
• SaaS or high traffic environments

Logistics:

• Working out of our Austin, TX office. Due to COVID-19 our entire company is working from home. Once these restrictions are lifted, we will be returning to our Austin office.
