Test Automation Engineer II

As a Test Automation Engineer at Favor, you will be responsible for building end to end tests of our product portfolio including web, iOS, and Android applications. You will work closely with our product, engineering, and operations teams to understand customer needs, build simple solutions to complex problems, and deliver delightful experiences to all our users.

Responsibilities
- Explore new technologies and contribute to the refinement of testing related tools, standards, and training.
- Mentor less experienced automation team members providing guidance on testing methodologies.
- Engage and collaborate with other teams to ensure timely solution delivery with high quality.
- Communicate individual and project-level development statuses, issues, risks, and concerns to technical leadership and management.
- Identify areas in which test automation can improve engineering productivity and increase confidence in the quality of new releases.
- Independently develop test plans and build automation for high complexity features and code.
Skills & Qualifications
- A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a software test automation role testing a microservices-based, event-driven architecture.
- Experience or familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: PHP, Scala, Kotlin, Kafka, Java, JUnit, Jenkins, Postman, Pact, REST API Testing.
- Experience integrating automated tests into build pipelines using tools like Jenkins, AWS, Docker and Github Actions.
- Advanced knowledge of testing techniques including functional, integration and load testing and ability to determine appropriate test methodology.
- Ability to lead larger initiatives working with the product, design, and engineering teams.
- Can drive process change to the SDLC of an engineering organization to encourage quality best practices.
- Can perform code reviews and recognize potential defects in implementations.
- Can provide recommendations and guidance for implementing automated tooling and product instrumentation.

- Understands how to use and contribute to an automation framework following the page object model.
