As a Software Development Engineer IIon the HomeAway UI team, you will work with some of the best technologicalminds. You'll fully involved across the entire development lifecycle fromconcept to shipping. You’ll also have open access to all of Expedia’s projectsso you can learn how we build scalable software using the latest build systems,testing tools and UI technologies in the cloud to deliver apps quickly.

We are really interested in yourcreativity, and problem solving skills and above all, would love to see any ofyour contributions to open source or other personal side projects that showcaseyour skills.

Day to Day You Will Be:

• Building a state of the art, secure,and high performing application with a rich user experience
• Being responsible for your solutionsall the way to production, striving for operational excellence with a first toknow, quick to fix and always improving attitude 
• Aiming for rapid delivery of highquality software

Your Experience and InterestsWill Ideally Include:

• Experience optimizing web pages forperformance
• Experience with JavaScriptlibraries/frameworks like React (preferred), jQuery, Backbone, or Angular
• Experience with ES5, ES6 JavaScript,and CSS/LESS development 
• Experience working with AJAX andJSON
• Experience with semantic HTML
• Skilled with one or more of theJavascript test frameworks (Jasmine, QUnit, mocha)
• Exposure to backend technologies (Javaor Scala, Spring framework) – Optional but a big plus
• Experience in mentoring a team incoding standards, design patterns and general best practices
• Experience working in an agileenvironment, Test Driven Development (TDD) or other development approaches witha focus on high quality tests
• Good written and verbal communicationskills that can clearly articulate technical details
