Civitas Learning is seeking an Engineering Leader to join its Global Leadership Team with proven expertise recruiting, retaining and developing world-class global engineering teams in a multi-application enterprise SaaS environment focused on product-led growth and scale.

Following new investment from leading technology investor Francisco Partners, the company is looking to continue to drive improvement into their best in class products. This Austin, Texas based position reports to the CEO and will lead a dedicated team of around 50 team members based in Austin, TX, Chico, CA and Pune, India. Responsibilities

• Recruit, retain and develop exceptional engineering talent.
• Cultivate a positive company culture that values cross team collaboration and trust.
• Foster an innovative environment for building industry leading solutions.
• Build and drive strategy to optimize the business, processes and products for effective SaaS delivery including driving continued improvement in efficiency of the technology platform.
• Ensure Civitas continues to build reliable, scalable, secure, and a high performing technology stack.
• Lead the product/technology’s overall advances to accommodate future features and capabilities while maintaining architectural integrity and adaptability.
• Develop and manage an iterative agile development approach that aligns with an agile product planning process.
• Work with the team to combine discrete leading adjacent products into a coordinated best-of-breed solution.
• Lead with passion and by example a team motivated by the positive impact their product brings to the industry.
• Establish and communicate clear metrics and processes for monitoring and delivering progress against objectives and timelines.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Product Marketing, and Sales on future product enhancements supporting product vision and strategy.
• Have a passion for making an impact on millions of students in Higher Education.

 
 Requirements & Profile

• Previous experience leading engineering teams focused on product-led growth and scale from a multi-application enterprise SaaS platform, ideally in a vertical-specific business.
• Thorough understanding of what it takes to manage a successful global engineering team and experience developing processes and infrastructure to enhance communication, collaboration and teamwork for onshore/offshore team members.
• Proven expertise prioritizing and balancing product advancements and technical-debt requirements.
• Driving and designing for product quality, performance and scale.
• Proven experience decomposing product asks into plans that you deliver against.
• Proven ability inspiring, motivating and growing mid-stage engineering teams that deliver quality products using an agile approach on a predictable timeline.
• Superior ability to communicate complex topics to multiple audiences, at all levels and in all disciplines.
• Thorough understanding of security principles - what it takes to secure data, and how to communicate security concepts to customers and stakeholders.
• Strong background in quality and deployment infrastructure. Experience with leading automated and unit testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery platforms, and various testing methodologies.
• 10+ years leadership experience and Technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related.

• Big data analysis and machine learning concepts.
• Data-driven approach with excellent analytical skills and an ability to identify trends, anomalies, anti-patterns etc.
• Product integrations and migrations across technologies.
• Optimizing and evolving agile engineering processes.
• Software Design/Solution Architectures.
• Amazon SaaS hosting and technologies.
• Cost optimization in the design and delivery of hosted solutions.
• Diverse experience in a range of modern and legacy application development, processing and persistence technologies.
