Upptic Inc. is looking for a VP of Engineering to fill the technical leadership role for our entire company!

During our still very short existence, Upptic has reached millions in annual revenue, reached profitability with limited funding, and will continue our incredible rapid growth as we automate the world of mobile app growth with you as a key driver of that.

Our VP of Engineering is the executive responsible for the management of our organization's technological needs and will collaborate directly with the CEO, who currently owns most of product for our company.

**Role Summary:**
At this stage of our company, you would be doing a lot of coding/code design while managing a small team (currently offshore in Europe), similar to the role of a senior engineering manager at a larger engineering org.  The team you would manage may include frontend/backend engineers, QA, devops, and outsourced engineering.  You would also be in charge of evaluating future candidates and growing our engineering team from 1 (you) to 5 to 10, as well as the broader company, from the ground floor. You would spend most of your time hands-on with coding in the initial year and as we grow our team, you would be in charge of a growing team, delivering product efficiently.  Experience working at a startup and managing off-shore teams a major plus.

Ability to eventually relocate to Austin a huge plus (within a year of post-COVID), but not a dealbreaker.  It would help if you explain your ability to relocate in your initial message.

**Areas of Responsibility:**
* Lead Upptic's software development, currently consisting of off-shore teams in Europe
* Grow the team by recruiting world-class technical talent as needed. Create and foster a culture conducive to innovation, high productivity, and high quality
* Writing scalable code and ensuring the quality of code for rest of the team
* Work with the C-Suite to define and execute the technical roadmap while maintaining responsibility for an on time delivery of all key objectives and milestones outlined 
* Discovering and implementing new technologies that yield competitive advantage;
* Strategic planning in terms of technologies used in product development and enhancement;
* Supervising system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency;
* Monitoring KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance and ROI;
* Communicating technology strategy to partners and investors.
* Design and consult the system and software architecture to improve customer experience;
* Support partners and stakeholders in product management and marketing.

**Requirements:**
* Proven experience as a VP Engineering or senior engineering manager with past experience managing teams, preferably in ad tech, marketing automation, A/B testing, gaming analytics, SaaS, performance marketing, or similar marketing technology industry;
* Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy backed by excellent knowledge of multi-tier web applications, IT systems, and infrastructure, including public clouds;
* Practical application development experience in Python (absolutely REQUIRED!), and preferably Javascript/ECMAScript, and AWS, at minimum;
* Ability to conduct technological analyses and research;
* Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities;
* Strategic and critical thinking;
* Problem-solving aptitude;
* Excellent collaboration skills;
* B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field.
