Web UI Developer

The Web UI Developer is responsible for managing all the development work needed for our customer community, built on Khoros (previously Lithium). They will partner with our Community team to receive requests to update the website and will look for ways to improve upon the current implementation. This individual will reside within the Digital Marketing team, and partner with others on the digital team to ensure development best practices and brand standards are adhered to and carried over into the Community platform. You must be a self-driver and initiator, and comfortable taking direction from others on the team, but also willing to provide recommendations on how to improve the process and development practice.

Responsibilities:

• Main tasks include community website maintenance, front and back end programming for websites, and project-based initiatives
• Collaboration with design, development and community teams to fulfill business goals and developing web-page layout, content, and user interface to ensure site consistency and functionality
• Coordinates with stakeholders in maintaining and updating their web-page material including debugging, and regularly updating site security to keep pace with the evolving environment
• Enhancing the current implementation of the community site is key, so being able to optimize and create efficiencies is important
• Researches and understands new web technologies including software and hardware developments, and recommends purchases and changes in design, security, software, and hardware based on those technology developments

Requirements:

• 4+ years developing websites with a strong proficiency in writing clean, hand-coded X/HTML, Javascript, JQuery, CSS in consumer-facing web applications
• Experience in Khoros (previously Lithium) platform, or similar community platforms
• Proficiency in WordPress a bonus
• Excellent mastery of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and building in accessibility from the ground up
• Comprehensive understanding of website translation processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that include the ability to articulate your coding rationale and problem-solving thought process
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive initiatives and conversations
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and how they tie into development
• Thorough understanding of Google Analytics

Education: BA/BS or equivalent work experience is required
