Workday Solutions Architect
Job Description
Procore is looking for an experienced Workday Solutions Architect to design and operationalize innovative and effective technical solutions that drive efficiency and a world-class employee experience. In this role, you’ll partner with stakeholders from our Global Talent Organization, IT, Finance, and other internal operations teams to optimize business capabilities through automation and design of a scalable and integrated HR systems architecture.
As a successful Workday Solutions Architect, you have a solid foundation of hands-on experience in HR systems design, configuration, implementation, engineering, and administration. This role will work across the “Hire to Retire” value stream with responsibility for Workday and integrated HR tools.
This position will report to our Head of Talent Technology, and can be based remotely at our Carpinteria, CA headquarters or Austin, Texas office. We’re looking for someone to join our team immediately!
What You’ll Do:
Provide architectural consultation across all Workday modules and integrated solutions, including Workday HCM Core, Compensation, Absence, Benefits, Talent and Performance, Learning, Payroll, and Security.
Define internal best practices for system architecture, design, and build across the “Hire to Retire” ecosystem and integrated enterprise business systems
Create and maintain documentation of business process, integration, and related data architecture to identify areas of friction, waste, and opportunities for improvement
Support development of multi-year HR technology roadmap in collaboration with business stakeholders and our IT engineering, data, and security teams
Facilitate and advise on the evaluation and selection of HR technology systems and enhancements, and lead proof-of-values/concepts (POV/POC) to prove out solution viability from both a technical and business perspective
Facilitate solution definition with subject matter experts and Enterprise Architects to ensure cross-functional process cohesion
Work alongside the IT engineering team to design, configure, and test integrations between Workday and other enterprise business systems
Serve as a technical Lead on complex, cross-functional, transformational projects and initiatives, guiding extended project team on technical design
Partner with BA’s and BSA’s across the Business Systems team to understand and prioritize user, functional, and technical enhancements and assist and advise on effective configuration, testing, and delivery of new solutions
Serve as a data steward with a focus on governance to ensure HR systems meet data integrity and architectural requirements across the enterprise
Partner with the data analytics team to develop and manage performance metrics for functional process domains to drive operational excellence
Build and manage relationships with senior leaders within the IT organization (Security, Infrastructure, Engineering, Data and Analytics) and influence and manage key functional area leaders (Director/VP and above)
Maintain awareness of current trends and new Workday functionality, providing recommendations to Global Talent Leadership and functional partners
What We're Looking For:
12+ years total experience with 7+ years of progressive experience in solution evaluation, design, configuration implementation, integration, and administration of Talent Technology tool
5+ years of experience designing, configuring, and implementing various modules within Workday cloud enterprise applications
Deep understanding and knowledge of business process and system architecture across the “Hire to Retire” value stream and their dependencies and impacts across the enterprise technology ecosystem
Ability to define problems effectively, curate and analyze relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid and concrete conclusions to make and support sound recommendations
Familiarity with Workday studio, Workato, or other integration platforms
Skilled with presentation and architecture development tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to comfortably interface with internal and external clients senior leadership
Demonstrates proven ability to manage multiple, often competing project workloads and activities
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
Bachelor’s degree preferred
