We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our Core APIs team. In this role, you’ll help foster a culture of technical excellence and high performance, supporting engineers in their growth and driving the development of products that deliver meaningful value to our customers. What You’ll Do- Lead and mentor a team of engineers building and scaling our Core API services, which underpin our services: [Identification,](https://fingerprint.com/products/identification/) [Smart Signals](https://fingerprint.com/products/smart-signals/), Billing and more.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, collaborating with senior engineers to navigate architectural decisions and scaling challenges.
- Support a healthy engineering culture through thoughtful code reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
- Partner with product managers to deliver robust, API-first solutions that help our customers detect and prevent fraud.
- Communicate effectively across engineering and cross-functional stakeholders, making complex technical ideas accessible.
- Promote a mindset of continuous improvement, learning, and accountability across the team.
Required
- 4+ years of experience managing software engineering teams in an agile environment.
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, ideally within SaaS.
- Strong technical foundation in software development and cloud infrastructure.
- A track record of leading teams that deliver high-quality, scalable software.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment with evolving priorities.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience managing teams in a high-growth company.
- Familiarity with AWS and modern cloud-native tooling.
- Background with programming languages like Go and/or TypeScript.
Compensation Range
For US-based employees, the cash compensation range for this role is $159,000 – $215,000. We set standard ranges for all US roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. To comply with local legislation and provide greater transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. However, these ranges are specific to the hiring location and may differ within or outside the US.

Offers vary depending on, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, certifications/licenses, skills, training, and market conditions.
Due to regulatory and security reasons, there’s a small number of countries where we cannot have Fingerprint teammates based. Additionally, because Fingerprint is an all-remote company and people can join our workforce from almost any country, we do not sponsor visas. Fingerprint teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location.
