SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – HOME OFFICE – AUSTIN, TX

Position Overview:
The Financial Reporting Lead is a member of the Finance team and reports to the Controller. This role’s primary responsibility is to assist the Controller with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, with a focus on Inventory.
Responsibilities:
Inventory
• Support inventory reconciliation between Retail POS and Financial ERP
• Prepare COGS allocation reconciliation and journal entries
• Support cycle count variance reporting and reconciliation with cross-functional teams
• Assist with year-end physical inventory coordination and reporting
• Process inventory supplier purchase orders and supplier invoices including 3-way matching process for supplier invoice, POs and receipt
• Prepare weekly wire payments to suppliers and coordinate payment with AP team
Financial Reporting
• Support all inventory and COGS monthly, quarterly, and annual month-end close activities
• Maintain fixed asset and prepaid schedules
• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and distribute monthly operational reporting for internal use by cross-functional business units
• Ensure appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
• Participate in the annual audit and related annual financial reports
• Monitor accounting and reporting regulatory changes; research emerging literature that will affect the Company’s accounting, financial statements, and disclosures
• Provide ad hoc analysis, reporting and specific projects as needed
Our Ideal Candidate will have:
• 4 Year College degree required: B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail skills
• Comfortable leading, coaching, and mentoring
• 5+ years of experience in an Accounting role; public account experience preferred
• High level of experience reading and interpreting accounting guidance
• High level of experience using Excel, Tableau, and other tools to analyze data
