About the role:
We are looking for a highly motivated Assistant Controller to join our fast growing, dynamic company. The Assistant Controller will serve as a trusted partner to the Controller and CFO and support our growth and strategy. The primary responsibilities include building and developing a strong team, overseeing accounting operations, and implementing new systems that help us scale quickly.

You have proven experience in building and developing a team, designing efficient processes, and maintaining day-to-day operations of an accounting department. Must live in Austin, TX or surrounding area.
JOB DESCRIPTION

• Build and maintain a high performing team by coaching employees and managing performance
• Manage accounting operations, financial reporting, GL, AP, AR, and cash flow management 
• Responsible for the coordination of accurate, timely month-end close processes and associated reporting and analysis
• Evaluate and implement accounting/finance systems, automations, or enhancements (accounting system implementation a plus)
• Knowledge of technical accounting requirements that ensure the company is compliant with GAAP, federal, state, and local tax and legal requirements
• Oversee changes to accurately capture financial data to drive business decisions
• Develop, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls 

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with experience building and/or leading a team
• CPA certification
• Public accounting experience is a plus
• Experience in SEC reporting a plus
• Large ERP experience, NetSuite experience preferred
• Proven leadership, personal integrity and charisma to build consensus with colleagues
