Associate FP&A Manager

realtor.com’s FP&A team is looking for an Associate FP&A Manager, reporting to the Director of FP&A and located in our Austin office. The Associate FP&A Manager will partner with finance and non-finance stakeholders across all major functions of the company and will support business and finance leaders through reporting, variance analysis and forecasting of expenses and company level revenue and margin. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our Accounting team during month-end close periods, guide our forecast processes, work closely with our parent company News Corp and will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the implementation of a new forecasting tool.
The right individual will have a detail-oriented mindset with experience in FP&A and will be comfortable working with large or incomplete data sets from disparate systems. The candidate should have a willingness to assume responsibility for a broad range of evolving priorities in a fast paced environment, a strong analytic foundation within a finance-oriented role, and be well organized. The candidate will have demonstrated a collaborative approach to problem solving and decision making and have strong interpersonal skills.
What will you do?
- Act as the FP&A Subject Matter Expert (SME) to complex financial models and drive insight from data. Identify issues, define action plan, and drive execution against the financials.
- Drive effective communication and alignment with your business partners, internally within Finance, our C-suite/Executive team, and with Newscorp, our parent company.
- Work cross functionally to prepare consolidated revenue, expenses and margins.
- Generate insights and recommendations based on the analysis of key performance indicators, revenue and operating expenses.
- Provide variance analysis and presentations for the monthly and quarterly reviews to the company’s leaders.
- Prepare the submission of month end financials, forecasts and budgets to News Corp.
- Support the implementation of a new forecasting tool and streamline FP&A processes.
- Design and implement operational processes to continually improve our speed, efficiency, and quality of deliverables to our business partners.
What will you bring?
- 5-7 years related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Finance.
- R and/or statistical (regression) modeling experience
- Substantial ability with Microsoft Office Suite, dashboard tools, and multidimensional databases. Experience with an FP&A forecasting tools (examples include Hyperion Essbase, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) and statistical software in Finance applications a strong plus.
- Advanced knowledge of financial planning, reporting & analysis, and drivers-based modeling & methodologies for marketplace business models.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities with the demonstrated ability to structure financial models around a high-level strategic vision.
- Strong strategic skills, with the proven ability to identify and assess key points, root cause, implications, and recommendations.
- Ability to execute deliverables with tight turnarounds, and manage multiple deliverables in condensed time frames.
- Approach all work with an eye towards continuous improvement, with an ability to identify and complete complex projects with minimal supervision and exceptional results.
- Self-starter and active listener with a keen interest in and commitment to personal growth and continuous learning.
- Clear, concise, articulate, professional verbal and written reasoning and storytelling skills to communicate effectively to audiences at all levels of the organization
- Good understanding of accounting processes, procedure and internal controls.
