We are looking for an experienced finance professional with capital markets and/or credit experience and a track record of exceeding performance expectations to lead our finance team.

What is the opportunity?

  • The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead all aspects of Skills Fund’s financial management, including capital markets; credit, portfolio and risk management; corporate finance; transaction management; and financial reporting.
  • The CFO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will serve on the senior leadership team, working collaboratively across functions to strategically advance the company, develop new products, and improve processes and internal controls.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  1. Lead our capital markets strategy and execute against it, including evaluating and recommending capital raising alternatives such as forward flow loan sales, private placements and securitization, balance sheet lending, etc. in terms of timing, capacity, product selections, and compliance. Manage due diligence by financing partners.
  2. Drive and coordinate development of new financial structures and credit pricing to support new products and business lines.
  3. Lead the finance team composed of both direct and indirect in-house team members and outsourced contractors.  Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, loan servicers, and industry specialists in the areas of accounting, tax, credit, loan servicing, compliance, and capital markets.
  4. Design and prepare board of director / investor packages and make leadership and board / investor presentations, as needed.
  5. Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting for organizational metrics, including loan portfolios, to ensure the company accurately executes, tracks, and reports its activity at both the corporate and financing transaction levels and to identify opportunities to improve the company’s capital position.

  • Skills:
    • 7+ years of financial services experience including either or both:
      • Demonstrated experience in capital markets, valuation, negotiations, and credit analysis and/or
      • Credit underwriting and analytics, credit product development, and portfolio performance management.
    • Demonstrated experience leading accounting and/or finance departments, including managing financial analysis, cash management, cost control, internal audit, reporting, and cost analysis.
    • Sound financial judgement and perspective, and the ability to effectively communicate and share complex ideas and concepts.
    • Strong leadership skills, both as a team member and as a team leader.
