Our first product is a line of personalized supplement treats that allow pet parents to take a proactive and preventative approach to their dog's overall wellness.

We're a fast-paced team of dog-lovers and entrepreneurs who are looking to flip the pet industry on its head through technology, design, and creative storytelling. Dandy is a fast-growing venture-backed startup that launched in 2019 with its headquarters in sunny Austin, TX.  

 

Chief of Staff at Dandy: 

 

This position will report to the Founder/CEO and will directly contribute to the growth of Dandy by providing strategic insights, thought partnership, and executional support for internal and external matters of high importance, with a focus towards strategy, finance, and operations. The ideal candidate will have 2-3+ years of experience in management consulting or investment banking, is curious, has a hunger to make an impact, and is excited to grow Dandy to become one of the most beloved pet wellness brands. 

 

Role

Your ability to work cross-functionally and identify opportunities to add value to the founder will be a critical driver in aligning the organization around priorities and helping guide the overall corporate strategy. The below highlights examples of key responsibilities across major functions:

 

Strategic Planning:  

  • Establish a planning process to identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic initiatives, ensuring they support Dandy’s vision & strategy 
  • Identifies, develops, and implements continuous process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the CEO and the organization
  • Prepare key presentation and structure agendas for internal and external stakeholders (e.g. senior leadership, Board, investors, etc); facilitate meetings with key decision-makers for all critical initiatives
  •  Provide decision support by working with leadership to distill and organize recommendations for CEO approval (anticipate requests for additional information, support with additional research or information analysis and surface key takeaways to ensure content is presented in a digestible format).
  •  Meeting regularly with team leads to develop and track progress against goals, and flagging projects or goals requiring resources and attention.
  • Help host periodic focus groups and consumer surveys to stay close to consumers, gauge NPS scores and satisfaction levels and draw insights on ways to improve as well as inform new product development opportunities

 

Finance and Data Analytics:

  • Serve as the gatekeeper for the management financial model; establish and improve financial processes, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Establish efficient KPI reporting on the performance of key marketing (online and offline) initiatives and activities
  • Build out consumer segments and archetypes leveraging existing data on consumers to develop hypothesis to A/B test 
  • Work closely with data analytics partner and CEO to aid workstream around data architecture build out and optimization to ensure Dandy is set up for success 
  • Meet regularly with team leads to develop and track the progress of key initiatives 
  •  

Operations & Supply Chain:

  • Build strategic alliances with key supplier and 3PL partners based on metrics of quality, total cost, and delivery linking to strategic business needs
  • Innovate creative ways of forecasting new product introduction to ensure that first orders are correct and minimizing stockouts or dead inventory

Required Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS degree or MBA
  • 2-3+ years of experience; at least 2 years of experience in management consulting or investment banking and preferably experience at an early stage, next-gen consumer brand
  • Proven track record of working closely with C-suite/VP-level management while also influencing across multiple levels and functions of an organization
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to model insightful financial analyses and prepare well-structured presentations 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects
  • Comfortable presenting and communicating to groups and across all levels of the organization in an effective, situationally appropriate, clear, and concise manner
  • Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple projects successfully
  • Ability to dive into any area of the business or product, understand business needs, and facilitate executive decisions
  • Problem solver, analytical and organized thinker
