Job Title: Controller

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Summary/Objective

Iodine Software equips medical care teams with the most innovative tools to solve some of their toughest problems in clinical documentation. By leveraging technology like Natural Language Processing, and ground breaking technologies like Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence, our platform drives significant improvements in how hospitals document patient health conditions, in turn positively influencing team performance and patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Direct day-to-day accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, and payroll.

  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting, ensuring records are maintained in accordance with GAAP.

  • Analyze and report to the CFO findings and recommendations regarding the company's financial position with respect to profits, trends, costs, budget compliance and forecasting.

  • Manage budget and forecast preparation for the company; perform monthly variance analysis, present findings, monitor and evaluate the company's financial effectiveness.

  • Participate in cross functional operational decisions, providing analysis, input and recommendations regarding business and financial impacts of decision paths.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior management to ensure that both operational and financial plans are created and implemented to achieve the business’ and company’s goals.

  • Understand operational challenges and opportunities affecting the company; analyze business trends, identify and recommend cost savings and profit enhancement opportunities.

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

  • Oversee preparation of tax schedules and returns

  • Establish compliance framework and financial processes for business activities, managing outsourced accounting, tax and compliance service providers

  • Coordinate and manage external audits

  • Prepare financial portion of Board package

  • Prepare investor reporting packages

  • Maintain external credit lines and adherence to reporting requirements

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as required

What You’ll Need

Minimum Requirements (Education, Certifications and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 6-8 + years of industry experience (including experience as a controller for a software company preferred)

  • Experience in public accounting working with high technology companies preferred

  • CPA

  • Experience identifying, researching and proposing logically-sound solutions to complex accounting issues

  • Experience developing and managing internal controls ensuring effectiveness

  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and Software Revenue Recognition

  • Effective oral and written communication skills with strong presentation skills

  • Experience efficiently prioritizing multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Strong PC skills to include expert skill level with Excel and PowerPoint

  • Superior attention to detail

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • MBA from leading institution

  • Business process improvement experience

  • ASC 606 knowledge and experience

  • High level of integrity, team orientation, goal oriented, and strong desire to succeed

  • Strong leadership capabilities, including a commitment to team building and mentoring
