Who You Are
You will lead the accounting and finance tasks, work closely with the VP of Finance to lay the financial foundation for our next phase of growth! You will create, document, and maintain new processes and procedures so that Ontic can scale as we rapidly grow. This is a very exciting time as we continue to define the accounting and finance function more fully. Your technical expertise, innovative thinking, and business acumen will complement and enhance our already exceptional team! This role reports to our VP of Finance and is based in our Austin, Texas headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Perform all accounting and financial operations including the general ledger, revenue, AP/AR
- Prepare accurate and timely financial and KPI metric information for management and investors
- Report monthly/year-end GAAP financial reports and internal reporting
- Execute the monthly consolidation and month end close procedures
- Coordinate monthly filings and yearly tax returns, periodic governmental filings, registrations, business, and tax licenses, etc.
- Prepare year-end workpapers for each entity to be submitted to independent CPA firm for income tax preparation
- Work with Executive Management and Operations Managers to ensure financial directives are followed
- Observe and analyze financial data on a regular basis to make recommendations in business operations
- Evaluate and integrate new software platforms into the accounting system to provide support future growth
- Facilitate and lead the year end audit
- Provide support for M&A and fundraising activities
Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall combined accounting and/or finance management experience
- At Least 5 years in a Controller position
- Experience with a startup SaaS company preferred
- Accomplished record of scaling an accounting team
- M&A and fundraising experience
- CPA required
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or NetSuite ERP systems; NetSuite implementation experience a plus
- Demonstrated accomplishments in introducing technological innovations to Finance
- Knowledge of new ASC 606 requirements a plus
- Experience with international consolidations
- Experience maintaining the general ledger and the month-end/year-end close process
