Vrbo is seeking a passionate, high energy Corporate Accountant at their Domain headquarters in Austin, Texas. This role is a part of Vrbo’s Corporate Accounting team, reporting to the Global Reporting Manager. The Corporate Accountant will be an integral leader within the Finance organization, working closely with Expedia, Tax, Transfer Pricing, and FP&A to support financial reporting, transfer pricing calculations and tax accounting journals and reconciliations.
What you’ll do:
Prepare calculations and journal entries for both routine and complex inter-company transactions for a global business as part of the month-end close process
Prepare inter-company account reconciliations and analyze and resolve discrepancies
Collaborate closely with other teams, including Tax, Transfer Pricing and FP&A
Assist with the preparation of financial reporting by compiling and analyzing financial statement information
Support month-end consolidation responsibilities, particularly for foreign subsidiaries
Preparation of various surveys and regulatory filing submissions for various federal agencies/departments
Support quarterly/annual audits by Internal Auditors and Independent External Auditors
Assist in special projects, initiatives and ad-hoc report and analysis requests
Assist with tax and audit requests
Who you are:
BS in Accounting with 2-3 years of experience. Big four experience a plus
Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger/ month-end processes
Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Dedicated, hands-on team player with excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Desire to drive process improvement while maintaining attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Oracle and Hyperion
CPA or working towards certification
Previous experience with intercompany and transfer pricing transactions
Demonstrated ability to work successfully and rapidly in a cross functional and international environment, leveraging your persuasive and collaborative approach to drive projects to successful resolution
