Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, as well as driving financials and high standards of Company compliance related to accounting policies, procedures, general ledger, company controls, payroll, as well as be the primary interface with an outsourced accounting function and external audit/tax firms. Work closely with the Director of Finance, senior executive team, and partners to facilitate efficient and effective company operations driving income generation.
What You'll Be Doing at RapidDeploy
- Lead, plan, and direct the outsourced accounting team in day-to-day accounting operations, providing input on all transactions, including but not limited to the general ledger, receivables, payables, and payroll. Manage budgeting process
- Provide technical accounting expertise to ensure various transactions are properly recorded and in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
- Develop, maintain, analyze, document, and streamline accounting functions and operations in accordance with GAAP. Evaluate and improve policies, procedures, and controls as needed to drive income generation
- Manage revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606. Manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial data necessary for accurate accounting and consolidated business results
- Provide Director of Finance and senior executive leadership with information vital to decision-making process
- Establish, evaluate, maintain, and ensure adherence to internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, program budgets, and actual expenditures. Develop and monitor business performance metrics
- Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the Director of Finance and senior executive team to continuously collaborate to assess financial efficacy of operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support programs operations
- Lead annual audit and perform consolidation of US and South African entities
- Lead, manage, and collaborate with external tax firm to stay up to date on all filings and tax compliance, and partner with PEO as necessary to ensure proper tax filings
- Manages and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies such as interviewing, hiring, and training employees. Plan and directs the work of others including but not limited to appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Assist Director of Finance with routine and ad hoc projects as needed. Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities as needed
Skills and Experience Required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar 4-year program is required
- Background/Experience: Three to five (3-5) years of experience in an accounting or accounting leadership role with audit experience
