About the Role:

Self is building a community of people who are looking to better their lives by building a credit history. You will join our Banking Risk team and be the subject matter expert for all things related to Metro 2 Credit Bureau Reporting, Disputes, and Permissible Purpose across both consumer loans and credit cards. 

In addition, you will be accountable for all relationship management of Partner banks, Credit bureaus, payment processing partners, & card networks (Visa, MC, etc.). This will require you to review and interpret contracts, outline gaps in existing processes, manage the day-to-day interactions and follow ups to support those relationships. You will use relationships to influence and negotiate on various business needs, including delivering difficult messages related to business decisions. 

Responsibilities may evolve within the above description as you become more senior in the role. 

What you will do:

• Develop a comprehensive enterprise-wide Credit Bureau Compliance Program, that includes policies and procedures, and control testing across all products.
• Risk assesses existing decisions and processes related to Credit Bureau reporting, define root cause, and implement process changes to mitigate risk
• Create KPIs and monitoring of all functions related to credit bureau reporting
• Review all bank partner and vendor contracts and outline key requirements and deliverables against those requirements
• Establish working relationships with all key vendors and partners, and formalize requests and concerns to address timely
• Responsible for reviewing all Visa technical changes and ensuring the business is ready for them at the time of release.  

What you bring:

• 5+ years oversight of Metro 2 reporting and strategy impacting both loans and credit cards (required)
• 5+ years Procurement, vendor management, or contracts experience (required)
• Demonstrate understanding of operational risk factors related to credit bureau monitoring and reporting
• 25% travel domestic & international (required)
• Exceptional communication skills and experience in group settings, with the ability to deliver a message
• Project management experience with the ability to work independently and self-solve for delivery obstacles 
• Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment and make judgmental business decisions with minimal need for managerial support 
• A keen eye for process improvement and efficiency modification to reduce cost & improve customer experience 
• Operate with a limited level of direct supervision, making decisions based on data and facts
