Job Role Overview

The Director of Finance Information Systems will lead the implementation and development of a comprehensive suite of applications and analytical tools to give operational teams and manage the visibility to the cause & effect of their operations and management decisions. This includes the implementation of our accounting system, payment processing application, financial planning, dashboards, system integrations, and BI reporting systems.  This role will partner with the various operating company managers and oversee the integration of their proprietary systems into our corporate applications, and then subsequently monitor and maintain the various interfaces.  This Director will create tools to dynamically measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and OKR’s so they can be viewed on a real-time basis through interactive dashboards.  

Furthermore, this role will act as the administrator and primary support of the ecosystem financial systems.  This position reports to the VP of FP&A and will be a key member of the Rex Finance team.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive the creation of the software infrastructure necessary to execute on the planned growth of the Rex ecosystem to realize Pete’s vision.
  • Support the implementation of key Financial Systems including NetSuite, Workday Adaptive Insights, Versapay, Airbase, Stripe, Modern Treasury and other modules as needed.
  • Oversee/develop the interfaces between the op co systems and corporate SPUR systems.
  • Provide user support for financial systems post-implementation.
  • Support the planning and forecasting process as needed.
  • Devise and implement strategies to streamline FP&A operations and improve upstream data collection and downstream usage and reporting
  • Partner with the Business Data Analytics team on financial data analysis requiring multiple systems
  • Define and implement financial business models used to create dashboards 
  • Develop and implement BI tools to include visualization dashboards and coach management team members to use them for support of their day-to-day actions
  • Responsible for data integrity to include reconciled numbers and defining the single source of the truth.

What you offer:

  • 10+ years experience in implementing Financial Information Systems
  • 10+ years experience in Business Intelligence in the technology or real estate industry. 
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and knowledge and understanding of subscription business models
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Information Technology; MBA a plus
  • Deep subject matter expertise in Corporate FP&A for an organization of comparable size, growth profile, and complexity
  • Independent, self-motivated individual with a positive, collaborative attitude
  • Thought leader
  • Excellent judgment with a strong work ethic
  • Strong collaborator and partner with demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional partnerships 
  • Demonstrated desire to challenge the status quo
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to streamline and simplify complex processes
  • An extensive network of external relationships that can be leveraged to assist with best practices, industry dynamics, capital markets, and access to established and emerging leadership talent
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Highly responsible, with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Capable of successfully managing and communicating with C-Suite members
  • Ability to understand the big picture and execute on the corporate vision
  • Flexibility to travel for business purposes as necessary
  • High level of emotional maturity

Location

We are located near Pennybacker Bridge on 360 overlooking the Colorado River and Austin Country Club. Our office has great views of the Westlake area with a decent number of restaurants within a 10 minute drive.
