The Finance Director will be solely responsible for supporting our Bright HealthCare regulated legal entities. You will need to utilize financial acumen to provide financial forecasts, oversee management fee allocation, provide internal & external audit support, and answer questions provided by the regulators.

 

The scope of the role is also focused on creating accurate gross margin forecasts and creating/tracking key performance drivers relative to the budget. This position will require an individual to communicate cross functionally to create and streamline current gross margin line items through intricate financial models. The role also requires the need to convert large ambiguous data into meaningful reports with key insights communicated to senior leaders. As healthcare is an extremely complex industry with shifting internal and external factors, it creates a vast amount of ad hoc projects throughout the year with various timelines.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, perform, and manage, gross margin budget and forecasting processes
  • Performing monthly/quarterly actual to budget analysis for revenue and medical expense indicating key performance drivers
  • Develop Gross Margin analysis at the legal entity, line of business, and market level
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on analysis to key stakeholders
  • Provide in-depth financial reporting oversight and analysis, and implementing best practices as it relates to the reporting process
  • Support audit, compliance and regulatory requirements for new & current business
  • Direct and review internal and external financial reporting processes and results, ensuring quality, accuracy and timeliness
  • Assist with the external audit process
  • Summarize Bright HealthCare’s financial, strategies, and developments to senior management, internal and external auditors, and regulators
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Root cause variance analysis of actuals
  • Reconciliation of various data sources to pinpoint discrepancies and provide solutions
  • Compile and analyze financial reports, identify relevant information, and transform it into meaningful output
  • Identify new opportunities for improvements within finance & accounting functions
  • Be an active contributor in day-to-day and monthly reporting
  • Create financial processes that are adaptable, consistent, repeatable, and scalable

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (Required)
  • Eight or more years of financial analysis or accounting experience (Required)
  • Five or more years of experience in Health Insurance field (Required)
  • Proficiency in Windows-based computer applications; Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Required)
  • One or more years of SQL or SAS code development (Preferred)
  • One or more years of VBA experience (Preferred)
