HomeAway is looking for a talented Financial Analyst to join our Global Marketing Finance Team team! 

Candidate Profile:

You have experience efficiently & expeditiously handling and analyzing large amounts of complex data and is able to synthesize it into actionable recommendations and solutions. Experience with OLAP based financial planning software such as Hyperion, Adaptive Planning, or Cognos is an advantage. If not experience, the ability to learn and ramp quickly into a subject matter expert in these tools for the team. A general understanding of accounting processes and concepts including USGAAP accounting. You are comfortable with working in an entrepreneurial organization where processes are not always well-defined due to the fast-paced business environment which requires agility and quick adjustments. Despite the pace, this person needs to bring process, scale and predictability in the solutions they drive. The ideal candidate will know how to work independently with little oversight but have a strong appetite for professional growth, development and real time feedback. Handling multiple priorities and managing the interests of multiple stake holders is a requirement. You are able to take leadership and ownership beyond their area of responsibility, driving the business strategically and improving productivity and efficiency by connecting the dots across the various functions of the team and business. Responsibilities:

The Global Marketing Financial Analyst will be a member the Global Marketing Finance team reporting to the Sr Manager Marketing Finance out of Austin, Texas. The Global Marketing Finance team serves both corporate and regional business partners by effectively monitoring this volatile seasonal business to predict financial outcomes including weekly pacing of volumes and revenues, monthly reporting, quarterly detailed reforecast and, annual budgeting. This analyst will be the right-hand person for all things planning related for our transactional revenue business. This person will be responsible for building strong working relationships with global finance and local business teams.

Additionally the analyst will develop & require a deep understanding of our business divisions in terms of their transactional models, drivers of volume, customer segments, revenue, and metrics. The analyst will need to craft solid relationships with local business leaders to understand and remain plugged into local operating models, processes and procedures. In this capacity, this person will actively work with senior management to identify, analyze and communicate current trends and most importantly their impact on forward-looking financial forecasts.

You will work throughout the regular forecast and budget processes as well as special projects as they arise. Work actively with business teams to share actual-budget variances, and with counterparts in Austin (global HQ), Europe & Australia [and Europe?] To ensure consistent, elite financial processes are employed, demonstrating our FP&A system, as well as Excel. The Analyst will own and drive the sales and revenue budget and forecast processes for all transactional businesses globally, working cross-functionally with regional and global partners to ensure a comprehensive and quality forecast. Finally you will drive efficiencies in the Finance organization by identifying process deficiencies, offering viable and scalable solutions and driving cross-departmental collaboration to implement those solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years of experience in financial analysis.
  • Shown experience utilizing advanced Excel skills to tackle business problems, including such tools as VLookUp, HLookUp, SumIf, SumProduct and IndexMatch.
  • Validated experience analyzing large amounts of transactional data with an ability to synthesize it into actionable recommendations and solutions.
  • Shown experience consolidating top line reports.
  • Extraordinary communication and time management skills for working globally and achieving multiple priorities on time in and in a quality fashion.
  • OLAP based financial planning software experience such as Hyperion, Adaptive Planning, Cognos.
  • Understanding of accounting processes and concepts including USGAAP.
