ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking a Manager, Revenue Recognition to take ownership of Babylon’s worldwide revenue recognition process, including the implementation of policies and procedures. Reporting into our Director, Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting you will develop and lead the preparation of accounting policies and procedures related to revenue recognition.

This position can be based in Austin, Texas or the Bay Area, SF.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

• Assess and review agreements and stand- alone statements of work to determine the appropriate application of accounting principles.
• Work cross-functionally with the SEC Reporting and Controllership teams, creating a positive, collaborative working environment and foster a culture of mentorship. 
• Perform research and on high level revenue recognition considerations, and other issues as needed, as well as prepare technical accounting memorandums to document conclusions.
• Establish and oversee the SOX 404 internal control framework related to revenue recognition. 
• Partner with Corporate Development in the establishment of new agreements that impact revenue recognition. 
• Work closely with external auditors in their audit procedures over accounting memorandums, position papers and determination of effectiveness of internal controls surrounding the revenue recognition process. 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Detailed knowledge and experience working within a public company reporting environment, either in public accounting or private industry.
• 6-8 years of progressive experience - a mix of Big 4 accounting firm experience (preferably at the Senior Associate or Manager level) and public companies with multiple, complex revenue streams in a software environment 
• 5 years public accounting experience may be considered in lieu of professional accounting experience within a publicly traded company
• Demonstrable involvement in technical revenue transactions a plus, with extensive knowledge of ASC 606 and an emphasis on software revenue recognition
• Exposure to IFRS 15 is a plus, but not required
• Demonstrable knowledge of SOX 404 requirements, including the ability to assess, develop and implementation internal control frameworks
• Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt to change 
• Excellent technical research and writing skills
