About the Role:
The Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of biweekly payroll for approximately 1,700 US employees and 200 Canadian employees using ADP Workforce Now. The role also covers management of our global attendance reporting through ADP eTime.
What You'll Do:
• Supervise and developt of payroll team of three;
• Review data entered into the payroll systems (i.e. processing new hires, updating employee information, addressing terminations, vacations, absences, etc).
• Review preliminary payroll reports and comparing them with timesheets and payroll forms to confirm accuracy.
• Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
• Ensure the timely Issuance of W2's and completion of the necessary year-end reports.
• Ensure the completion of statistical reports, statements and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts and submitting them to appropriate departments.
• Respond in a timely and professional manner to questions from employees and department managers regarding payroll, benefits, etc.
• Communicate with management and executive leadership.
• Manage periodic audits (internal, financial and tax authorities).
• Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
• Manage tasks related to HR in areas such as benefits administration and termination settlement.
• Maintain payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Maintain payroll staff job results by counseling employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
What You Need to Succeed:
• Experience in developing and managing professional staff
• Experience in evaluating and streamlining processes
• Experience with multi-company and multi-location environment
• Experience with international accounting, including multi-currency translations
• Hands-on experience with fully integrated accounting system
• Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to multi task and shift priorities as needed to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Global, Shared Service, Divisional and/or Corporate experience preferred
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and instill a sense of urgency
• Strong team building skills
Additional Skills That Could Set You Apart:
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
• 10 years of payroll management experience
• Experience with global payroll operations
• Extensive knowledge of payroll-related laws across the US and Canada
• Extensive multi-State payroll processing experience
• Extensive Knowledge of payroll systems (experience with ADP WFN)
• ADP eTime administrator experience
