The Principal Pricing Strategy Manager will directly impact our growth by shaping SailPoint's pricing strategy across our products while considering our customers' needs and values, product and go-to-market strategy, competitive dynamics, and near and long-term business objectives. They'll lead the analysis, evaluation, and execution of pricing initiatives with product and go-to-market teams. Beyond specific projects, this role will serve as an internal pricing advisor, own the frequent evaluation of our pricing, and lead customer value and willingness-to-pay studies.
The Principal Pricing Manager must be comfortable collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Internally, product management, finance, sales, and marketing personnel will be critical participants towards defining and executing SailPoint pricing strategy. Externally, engaging customers, partners and industry analysts will provide balanced perspective. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong analytical and leadership skills to significantly contribute to a growing team. This position reports into the Director of Pricing Strategy at SailPoint. Open to remote employees.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leaders in sales, marketing, and product organizations to craft new business models, define monetization strategies for new offerings, and optimize packaging & pricing for existing products
  • Drive robust pricing and customer analytics and research, including CLTV, cohort, street pricing, conjoint, economic value drivers, customer value perception interviews, etc.


  • Interface regularly with senior management throughout the SailPoint organization
  • Engage with teams across SailPoint to improve the core economics of the business through monetization strategy
  • Lead strategic pricing projects incorporating project design, data collection and analysis, summarization of findings, and presentation of results
  • Provide analytical and valuable insights for decision-making support for key projects and management
  • Work closely with various business functions to identify opportunities, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets using different techniques and tools such as R studio or Tableau


About you:

  • 3+ years of experience working with data to identify trends and opportunities, preferably in consulting, SaaS / software, or another relevant industry
  • Experience communicating in a structured, clear way - to drive alignment, make recommendations, and showcase progress against business outcomes - with diverse stakeholders of all seniority levels
  • Understanding of SaaS/subscription and software licensing models


  • Strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate as well as influence effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent end-to-end generalist problem solving skills, including developing logical, actionable recommendations
  • High level of Excel proficiency and analysis and/or financial modeling skills
  • Strong business acumen, including building business cases and developing clear hypotheses


Education:
Bachelor's degree required. MBA is a plus.
