Position Summary
SciPlay is currently seeking a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting to support an ever-growing organization. Your quest, should you choose to accept, will be to contribute to organizational goals through the preparation and coordination of all aspects of external financial reporting of SciPlay Corporation (NASDAQ: SCPL), including but not limited to, consolidation, financial statements analysis, close book preparation, preparation/filing of SEC financials, and the accounting of more judgmental areas. To successfully complete your quest and to #LevelUp, you’ll need to complete these essential functions:
- Consolidating the financial statements of all SciPlay Corporation entities, including the recording of noncontrolling interests, analysis of financial statements and resulting close book necessary to support external disclosures
- Preparing quarterly deliverables, including SEC schedules as required by the controlling shareholder’s technical accounting group
- Preparing and filing with the SEC quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes of SciPlay Corporation in accordance with U.S. GAAP requirements, including XBRL tagging
- Preparing and recording journal entries that require a higher level of technical competence, such as stock-based compensation and noncontrolling interests
- Drafting technical accounting memos for all one-time or unique transactions, including SEC disclosure requirements
- Preparing and recording journal entries associated with any acquisitions, mergers, or other business combinations
- Preparing the required quarterly and any ad hoc reporting related to the company’s line of credit agreement
- Working on multiple, time-sensitive financial projects simultaneously
- Scheduling activities to meet strict deadlines
- Partnering with the controlling shareholder’s technical accounting group on the impact assessment and implementation of new accounting standards/ policies
- Assisting in the design, monitoring and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting to comply with Sarbanes Oxley
- Assisting accounting and finance leadership with special projects/tasks, as required
- Responding to requests for supporting materials related to periodic operational, SOX, and financial audits
- Leading CPE development of accounting team by proactively participating/leading periodic training sessions, including debriefing senior management on new technical developments abreast of technical accounting and reporting matters and addresses any potential impact on the division
- Ensuring integrity of financial statements and compliance with all internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Proposing and implementing approved process changes to drive automation and scalability
- Supporting acquisition integration
- Creating, reviewing, and maintaining audit support.
*Additional quests will be assigned by the Senior Accounting Manager as organizational needs change.
Qualifications:
You should be a proactive problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should have a demonstrated ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of the organization to effect positive change. Advanced knowledge and understanding of core accounting and finance principles, as they relate to technical accounting and SEC reporting. During the recruiting process, be ready to discuss examples of your exceptional accounting and analytical skills, mastery in problem analysis, and ability to work with senior management to effect positive change.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting is required.
A master’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
Certifications:
An active CPA license is required.
Required Experience:
To be eligible for this role, you should have at least three years of technical accounting and SEC reporting experience. A mix of experience in public accounting and in a publicly traded, multi-entity organization using a tier 2 or higher ERP (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, Dynamics, etc.) is strongly preferred.
A demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (advanced proficiency in Excel) is also required.
A demonstrated proficiency in the use of WDesk to prepare and file SEC financial statements, including XBRL tagging.
Travel:
This role does not require recurring travel; however, occasional travel for professional conferences and business needs might occur
