Senior Accountant
Position Overview:
Praetorian is seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant with a successful track record in accounting in a high growth company setting. This position is instrumental and the activities that you will own have extreme impact on the overall success of the company. Reporting to the Director, Operations and ultimately VP, Finance, your job is to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and help maintain the financial health of the company. Core responsibilities:
- Manage the month-end accounting close process to ensure General Ledger postings are complete within required deadlines and in accordance with accounting principles
- Manage customer invoicing, payment, and accounts receivable
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and accounts payable
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and analysis
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting to the executive team and Board of Directors
- Update/review work papers such as depreciation and amortization schedules
- Review and approve company expense reports
- Track, manage, and audit actuals against budgets
- Investigate budget and variance issues
- Oversee commercial banking relationships
- Partner with external CPA firm on state and federal income tax filings
- Streamline accounting systems and improve processes to achieve greater efficiencies and accuracy
- Recommend, design, and implement financial policies, processes, and controls that improve the financial integrity of the company
Required qualifications:
- 2-5 years of corporate accounting experience
- Prior track record in a high-growth, high-tech company
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in GAAP and other accounting, auditing, legal standards
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related degree from a tier one institution
Desired qualifications:
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience with Salesforce, QuickBooks and/or NetSuite
- Proficiency with Excel
- Big 4 experience a plus
