We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will help support and drive a business that consists of ~$1B in assets under management. This is a critical role, and you will be a foundational leader so we are looking for people passionate about building processes that will serve internal and external customers.
We are looking for someone who will assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports, handling the day-to-day A/R and A/P transactions, shared-service allocations for multi-entities, reconciling payroll (plus benefits: self-insured), balance sheet reconciliations, and answering vendor inquiries about payment status and other account issues. This role will also be responsible for assisting with third party audits, and supporting the finance team for the Rex ecosystem of companies.
What You will Do:
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and manage the month end close
- Create customer invoices and manage collection of receivables when payments are due
- Enter A/P bills and process payments as directed by the Controller
- Monitors, reviews, and verifies accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and adequacy of supporting documentation
- Ensures compliance with internal policies, agency rules and regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Reviews and analyzes reports for accuracy prior to distribution
- Clarifies or research issues as necessary
- Provides input for the development of accounting applications, reports, forms, records, and documented procedures.
- Assists in development of financial projections and forecasts
- Ensure accuracy and completeness with shared service allocations (cost and cost plus)
- Create and deploy onboarding process for new vendors and ensure receipt of accurate W-9's for year-end 1099 reporting
- Assist with preparation of tax returns
- Complete and file monthly or quarterly sales tax reports for taxing authorities in which we have pre-determined nexus
Who you are:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting (Public/Private Mix), with at least 2+ years in Public Accounting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA preferred
- Experience with month-end closing activities, and PBC preparation
- Advanced Excel skills (V/H-lookups, Pivots, Sumifs, etc.)
- Experience with Netsuite preferred
